OpenDay'15

HI.
Or should I say....MEOW.

Yes this is me.
As a cat.
On our Open Day.
Who got a lot of photo request.

So I was volunteering for one of the booth, which is under foundation, which is under the Innovation Expo for engineering and science.
Our booth was seperated to two parts,a part is about physics and chemistry which we perform simple experiment and explain it.Another part will be the -money earning- part, which we did face painting, hand painting and tattoos, also a PS4 for guys to spent time (and money.
(cheap)tattoos and hand painting.

So we prepared a day earlier, went to buy groceries and also tried to decorate the booth.
A little annoyed was that the people are not so organised.Maybe its because they have busy schedules(?) Like seriously they made the booth decoration and even the layout on the very day of Open Day.
Well,but still everything went smooth.

For this day, someone said its so boring, someone said not having fun.
But it reallyyyyyy depends on the person.Especially people like me went craycray.
And also imagine fixing all my cravings just because I didn't went to town for quite a while.

Started my day with kebab from Meritz hotel.

Takoyaki as a gift for myself after hours painting faces.

Enjoyed this at the very end of the Open Day.

I actually ate much more than that XD
Well I was with my friends so I got to try more than just mine.
Ate Taiwan chicken popcorn, lemon tea with aloe vera, longan drinks with tappuri longan(almost half of the cup with it),and someone belanja the whole chicken chop. And for the toast,I got it for free!At first I was just thinking of getting a drink(ribena+sprite),and at the same booth they sell toast, but since its almost the end of the day,so they gave out for free!Yumm very yumm!

My body hates me and my tummy thanks me a lot for that day.

On that day too, there are exhibition from the police(or rakan muda?) ,handicrafts too.Even showing snakes and spiders (which is the very first time for me to actually touched it without thinking its gross or its scary)Because they keep those spiders in a very pretty glass showcase, handled it like some kinda pets, and on that very time,I think I didn't even treat that spider as a spider LOL.

Other than that will be escape room!Because I was busy with my booth, and after the booth I went around the stage for some performance and the Mr.&Ms.Curtin event,I didn't had the chance to have a try.

Owhhh, this is one of the performance with traditional music instrument that got my attention (just because I didn't see those before) With that they humm and sing melody, also with a few moves that looks a bit like silat.

Another thing I think is quite interesting on that day will be Motor boat race and paramotoring.
Its so cool just seeing those self-innovate or self-create motor boats racing at the lake. The view is spectacular I have to say, accompanied by the sound effect of the engine and vision effect of the water splashing and also big turning on the water.
Paramotoring will be something like paragliding, but since we don't have a higher region or a small hill, they actually have this thing called paramotoring. Its almost the same with a parachute, but you actually sit on a seat with a big fan behind you,so that you don't need a long route before flying up.

Paramotoring.
I somekind regetted not wearing nicely on that day LOL,but because I was helping a booth I have dress code >< Since they decorated the place so nicely everywhere, and even set up a few insta-friendly place for photoshooting (which I don't even have the time and energy to go all around after the long day)
An instagram photo booth!

Array of balloons at the student central.
This was actually a couple made of balloons!
The kiddies corner will be much more fun with a transformer model,a few minions made by balloons, and I believe more than hundreds of balloons around!(owhhh how much I wish I was a kid)
The Innovation Expo for business and commerce was decorated with balloons and balloons.
For us engineering and science, those seniors actually made out a blue transformer out of waste products! (sorry no pic!) I was truly amazed!!!

Our booth with face painting actually went well!
At first I actually worried that no one will come but nahhh people enjoyed!
Not even worried about getting too 'over',since there are cosplayer all around.
Yes,cosplayer. Some with the whole set of costumes. Some with just wig and makeup.
I felt like some kind of carnival or matsuri !

Part of the 'customers'.

Our whole team.

Ended the day playing Malibo which is a traditional game of the Melanau.
A big swing which we need to grab on a bamboo stick and swing like a monkey (or Tarzan).
Night view by the lakeside.

We stayed until quite late waiting for the bus.
But seriously I enjoyed being free, not thinking about study and not thinking about exam.
Enjoying the very little things in life,
not rushing for classes not rushing for anything,
living a slow life, enjoy food on the grass by the lakeside,
sing along and cheer with the performance band,
flailing like crazy for the hot guys and pretty girls for Mr.&Ms.Curtin,
talked about everything by the lakeside with the sunset,
running on the field, chatted with friends and played in the field,
enjoying the evening breeze and making jokes.

I feel grateful to have a day like this as a small runaway.
Thanks a lot for everyone that willing to spend time and enjoy with me,

This beautiful memory is just like the tattoo on my finger.
Small but precious as diamond.
*not to mention my short fingers*

Being fair

Before this,
I was always thinking about the word, fair.
I used to be always thinking about the definition of the word FAIR,
and I never came to a conclusion.

Starting from the same starting line and having the same opportunity doesn't means fair,
since everyone's personality and ability will be different,
and the word FAIR will never meet an exact definition.

When you work so hard, and can't get what you deserve,
and people who never work that hard got it (just an example)
then we'll start thinking that its not fair.
BUT STILL there'll be people who worked harder than you,
or people have the talent, but don't even have the chance to work hard,
or people who can't even have the chance to even work hard.
In this case,we are actually considered very lucky to have the chance to work hard on what we want.

So we can't meet the word EQUAL in everything.
So instead of hoping for something fair and equal,
its better to enjoy and indulge in the time working hard,
and at the same time don't hope for any outcomes,
since we already enjoyed in the part working hard,
believe me you won't even care about the result!
You'll slowly find out that being fair is not that important.

Do something that you are interested in,
and everything you hope will come soon or later!
Don't try to compare don't try to stand out.
if you are good there is always someone better,
just be yourself and indulge in what you are currently doing.

Don't have any expectation,
but at the same time don't lose hope too,
without expectation there'll be less disappointment and more surprises!

Today I came across this pictures,
(there's so much inspiring quotes and stories on the net,
but being able to understand and digest fully is quite hard)
so it'll be great if you take some time to digest it!

A very meaningful one.

CV Love Mission

Tadaaaaa I'm backkkkk!
Sorry for the hyper, but yes, finally finished both Physics and EngineeringMath for my midterm!
although there's still Programming C++ left,
but nahhh that one is after he tuition free week,
so at least, today, let me be free let me flyyyy.

So,remember I mentioned an interview in my last post?
Well, its for CV love mission, and I got not only that,
but also get to involved in another volunteering activity which will be few days later.

So for this CV Love Mission,
we visited the old folks home twice,
located at Miri,
not so far from the town.

For the first visit,
we helped out to clean up the place for the whole morning.
After that we had lunch,
and after lunch there's desserts!...for the old folks Haha
but there were more so we got it too!
Its called T4,a kind of tea(?)
Like it very much! They said that its quite a famous shop around this area.

After lunch we talked to the old folks there,
most of them are Chinese,
they shared their stories, talked about their lives.
And I have to say I learnt a lot from their stories.

The Second Visit!

Before the second visit,
we spent some times for rehearsal,
A few days before the visit,
we did some preparation for the performance,
dance rehearsal,singing too!

And before the second visit,
we got a new tee for this LoveMission event!
Love the design,love the color!

When we first reach there,
we made some handicrafts from sticks and icecream sticks.
Made a lantern,totally fail XD
Someone from us was just PRO,
they can actually make shapes from all those sticks!
Mine?It looks almost like rubbish,
and I believed that someone actually mistaken it and it almost made its way to the garbage bin Haha

The second one is Bookmarks!!!
We drew on the ice cream sticks,
well my imagination is quite limited haha,
The thing I wonder is whether will they use it or not XD
(Mom said as an old people, she won't want all of these as presents LOL)

After that,lunch time!
And we performed after lunch.
Danced three songs and sang about 5songs~
And two of the volunteer performed Chinese Yoyo too!

At the same time,
all of us get to eat mooncake too!
Never expect this actually,
I almost thought this year I won't even have the chance to eat mooncake,
totally made my day (or made my week XD)

At the end,
we gave out our handicrafts,
and its time to say buhhbyee TT

All the time during this visit,
I keep feeling touched,
I believed that they really need more company,
and I was really grateful that I have this chance volunteering.

Hope that our visit didn't bother them,
and hope that it really did enlightens their daily lives.
Coz after the visit,
I felt so recharged!

We make a living by what we get,
but make a life by what we give!

Finding reasons

Finally done the interview and my first presentation.which is the impromptu speech.
Well, the interview results will be out tomorrow (I guess?)
But well, since its just the start of my university life,I kinda allow myself to fail a bit.
But what I really found out is,I do learn from that.

Because I need to understand myself more,
I was thinking about my habit,my hobby.

When you ask what is my hobby, well, GOOD QUESTION.
I watch dramas I watch variety shows, spending time on the net....
The thing is,how can those,my hobbies, make me a better self?

After a bit of thinking, these are my conclusion.
For the shows I watch, its actually a quite educational one.
The regular ones that I squeeze time to watch (like during breakfast or lunch),will be,
1.Where is my Friends Home?
Its a korean variety show that they travel to one of the friends hometown.
So far they visited Italy,Canada,China,Korea,Nepal,Belgium,
and the show is still going on,and the travel is going on as well.
Well, not to mention the hot guys *lovey eyes*,
but I actually learnt a lot about other country's culture and language.
Well,I am quite interested in other country's culture,
not only the buildings and the history,
but also the way they live their daily life,
how they live in details.problems they face daily.

2.Abnormal summit
I believed I had mentioned this show a few times in my blog,
Its something like MUN,
they talk about soft news and hard news,
about cultural and history,
debating about making decision or the way we act,
it helps a lot in getting new information and knowledge,
at the same time let me rethink myself,
and also get to know more cultural from other countries.

Watching dramas will be another story,
remembered the post I wrote about watching dramas is a part of my life?
Well,the dramas I watched are not those Korean's-whole episode can't stop flailing-type,
for dramas,watch Japanese ones!
Maybe if you want some love story then its okay to watch a few from the Koreans,
because Japanese dramas actually have a lot of story behind the the main storyline,
you get to know a lot of life values and good quotes from it,
maybe some will be touching soft news and current society problems,
they also teach you to value peoples and details in your life,
that is why I like those dramas.
Maybe it will be a bit boring,
but mostly you will be gaining knowledge,
and also helping you to be positive and more genki.

Besides from that will be youtube I think(?)
Believe me there's a lot of things to learn from this entertaining website.
The recommended (educational) ones will be:
Vice and CGP Grey,
touching soft news and also current society hidden problems,
and the other one will be those-not so hot-topic and knowledge.
You can also find whatever things you're interested in,(even about study duhh)
and also a lot of documentary that I believe I can't finish all those I am interested in my whole life.

There'll also be a lot of readings can be done through.....wechat!
Yes,wechat,
if you subscribe to the right account,
those daily readings actually contains a lot of inspiring stories,
and at the same time wider your mind! (helping in speech and impromptu XD)
there'll also be accounts sharing about how to be a better self,
or ways to eat healthy live healthy,
and you will find out yourself needing so much improvement!

Well,with all the dramas,the variety shows,reading too,
you'll probably get a lot of information,
and you'll find out what's important,
like being able to work in a team,
or being patient and being okay to be not okay,
things will turn out much better.

Another thing I am quite interested in is my body health.
I have to say I still have a loooooot of improvement in this.
I wanted to do more workout, really wanted to continue gym,
but I failed to drag myself LOL. (A workout partner please!!!)
But I tried my really best to walk more stand more,
attending Taekwondo class (the only sweating time which sometimes I don't sweat Haha)
just to decrease feeling guilty haha.

Of course I don't eat that much,
our body don't actually need that much energy,
we are just sitting down studying whole day student,
not professional athlete that need to train whole day,(even they don't eat that much!)

Trying my best to cut down those sweets,
I actually haven't eat ice cream for a month! (what an icecream lover!!!)
I believe that taking care of these small details will actually make a tiny-mini different.
We still have a long life to live,
start changing for today,
doing bits by bits, and DON'T GIVE IN.

Sometimes without realizing,
I can actually eat a bit even nothing LOL (coz all looks so unhealthy ><)
But what is more important is eating healthy and eat clean.
I actually had the same dream a few times,
about my teeth dropping of one by one in my mouth,
realizing I have not enough nutrition for it.
And the next day I will try to eat more haha.

Try to change to the self that you like,
bit by bit, day by day.
Try to have a few healthy habits and enjoy life in those small things.
They will be the only things you can hold on if you are nothing.

I lava you.

We actually planned to study in the morning, which turns out hopping up the bus to the city for a movie, and ended up jumping out from the bus emergency door back home.

This morning, took the 830 bus to the campus and had breakfast at the school cafe.We booked the discussion room from 11-1pm,so the morning started lovely ,with my songs playing loudly from speakers in the discussion room, since it's sound proof XD
We did some EM tutorial, and I went to the ICT lab to print some notes for physics.
When I was all done,Keran suggested to go for a movie, and we rushed for the last bus on this day to the town.I must looked very stupid with my shorts and sandals, carrying my big backpack and my heavy files with all my notes to the mall.

We went to the bintang mall GSC,which is smaller than the TGV,but the theater is quite okay, since the seats are a bit tilted although the cinema theatre is quite a small one.
Inside out,was the movie we watched. It started with two volcanos falling in love, singing songs containing lyrics I LAVA YOU.Aww.So.Sweet.
A very nice movie, these days animation is something, love it. It's a bit touching, and through the whole storyline there's a hidden story behind it(at least that is what I thought) Growing up,and having much more complicated emotions, and it's okay to be so.

After the movie,we went crazy at the 3D wall in front of the cinema.
With the HULK.

...and TOTORO!

Today's gang.

A selfie which Jason got a pair of totoro ears.

at Daiso.
went craycray.

Also at ToyRus too. ^皿^

We went to Daiso a while,ToyRus a while, popular a while, all ended up buying nothing XD

Took the bus and when it reach home,OMG the bus door can't open! Some guys try to push it knock it and nothing happened.Ended up we going out from the emergency exit!
Whoa that was real high. Even the tallest guy's head didn't reach the door floor, and we need to JUMP down from there! It's really scary if you are the one standing there, never expected to be that high! As long as everyone's safe!

Today used to be a quiet study day, which turns out a crazy day with crazy friends, ended up jumping from the bus emergency exit. Never expected all of this haha.

Interview soon.Presentation soon.Lots of assignments to be done.MID TERM SOON.Back to study mood.
